When you get worse fuel economy than usual in a 2011 corola, it’s because you didn’t maintain it properly or you didn’t drive it efficiently. What are you going to do: get mad at yourself?

Now some cars claim to learn your driving habits and adjust for efficiency. When you get worse fuel economy than usual in one of those — and you will, because all software is terrible — how would you even begin to fix it? There might be no way but to roll the system back to factory and wait for it to hose itself again.

Or, if you value your time and money, to sell it and get that corola.
